About the event
What is the analyst’s discourse? Lacan distinguishes it from other discourses, which is to say that he presents the possibility of a social bond unlike any other. The analyst operates not from a position of mastery or all-knowing authority, but as the cause of desire (objet petit a) for the analysand. How does one occupy the place of objet petit a? What is produced at the end of analysis by way of analytic discourse? How might analytic discourse guide not only the clinic but also a psychoanalytic society? How can a psychoanalytic society remain stable? What are the aims of a psychoanalytic society?
